Legion Launch

There are only two words I can use to describe the launch of Legion, “Seamless” and “Smooth”. The only noticable problem was some servers were full and therefore locked. Here is how the newest expansion introduced itself to me…..If you were somewhere else perhaps you seen something different, so this is my personal account of events.

  • The clock hit 11.00 GMT, 12.00 server time.
  • Doomsayers in Orgrimmar disappeared from the streets.    Their tales of woe were true, who would have guessed.
  • Invasions disappeared from the map.
  • Khadgar offered the 3rd part of the artifact quest line.
  • You notice that you start to earn xp for mob kills.
  • You are transported to your new class hall. Feels like a dormitory.
  • New land is free to explore.

That was it.
Thinking back a whole two days ago, it would have been good if those doomsayer guys, or their boss, whoever that may be, had popped up on the screen to give a countdown. Perhaps some fancy cut scenes to launch you into it.
Still, overall my only complaint would be that some people have reached 110, and I’m still 103…..Sigh!!

Steamwheedle Preservation Society Rep

Steamwheedle Vendors

These are the people you will need to visit if you want to gain rep with the Steamwheedle Preservation Society.

Successful Guild Launch

Guild launch day has gone and it was a huge success. Our guild is now in full swing with levelling and friendships being made.
Here are some do’s and don’ts to consider when creating your own guild.

Do's

Have some clear objectives for your guild
Create recruitment posts in advance of the guild creation
Make a guild website where potential members can sign up
Have access to voice communications prior to launch day
Set date and time for a launch day
Hold a memorable launch event
Host guild events
Limit recruitment
Recruit officers to help you
Stay active. Nobody likes an afk GM

Don't

Create a guild and hope that people will join
Recruit members just for numbers
Change the original objectives of the guild

The Guild

Just one day left until our yet unnamed guild launch. I have to admit that we did cheat a little by creating level 1 characters on our presumed server and faction.

Community Guild Awards?

Due to an unexpected development within the game, I began to think about something and came up with an idea. We are all aware of the Warcraft aspect of Blizzcon and what it's all about. For those who don't, it's about Tournaments, World Firsts (still recognised) Cosplay and Merchandise, and there is some competitions for film creation and songs. Last night I began to thinking about this and I realised that the most important aspect of the game is not represented, and that is the community aspect.

Back to the unexpected development

Yesterday I received a message from a GM of my former guild that has long disbanded. His idea was to restart a new guild. New beginnings so to speak. I was never so delighted because I had drifted and no matter how many times I would log in, I felt I had no reason to keep playing. Since the disbanding of our former guild I was a lost soul. I joined and left many guilds. I even created my own guild. I discovered that it wasn't just being in a guild and raiding that made the game worthwhile, it was the people you meet and the friends you make along the way.

So I was thinking. Why doesn't Blizzcon feature a kind of Community Guild Award, and I'm not talking about the best raiding guild, or guild with the most achievements. I'm talking about the guild with the best community spirit. Each guild would nominate themselves by submitting a short film promoting their guild.

This doesn't even have to be a Blizzcon event. It's something that Blizzard could do throughout the year, with the winner being announced at Blizzcon.

So I'll leave that right here, copyright pending for my idea.

The Path of Glory

Yesterday I began to fulfill the draenor exploration achievement. Everything was perfect except for that one elusive place, The Path of Glory. I know I have passed it as I was being transported from A to B, but where was it? It was not showing on my map.

Eventually I found it just North of Fort Wrynn. The map co-ordinates are 66.4 10.5
I hope this helps someone who may be lost.
